Mikhail Bulgakov's Prechistenka Street
The exhibition at Bolshaya Pirogovskaya, 35a, is dedicated to the circle of friends of Mikhail Bulgakov, which he became part of in the mid-1920s.

The so-called "Prechistenсhi" — "highly qualified individuals," as Bulgakov called them, including philologists, philosophers, and art historians — worked at the State Academy of Artistic Sciences or were connected to it, primarily living in its vicinity. Bulgakov himself moved here as well, first to Chisty and then to Malyy Levshinsky Lane.
The exhibition will explore the meetings and influences, the reflections of Prechistensky themes in Bulgakov's work, the dramatic fates and enduring friendships, and the mutual memories. It will present rare photographs, documents from personal archives, collections from the Bulgakov Museum and other archival holdings, and memorial items from Prechisten homes, where Bulgakov often visited with great pleasure.
