Ilya Ilf arrived in Moscow in 1923, and it was only six years later that he was finally able to obtain his first own apartment and bring his wife Marusya to live with him.
This first address was on Soimonovsky Lane, house 5, apartment 23, telephone 4-77-54. Here began a happy new life, Ilf's passionate pursuit of photography, and the arrangement of the household for the new Muscovites.
The exhibition is the winner of the first competition for museum and exhibition grants of the Russian Jewish Congress.
